Investigation - Brief Report
Plaza Don Luis

History
The area that is currently Plaza Don Luis, located on the of Old Town Albuquerque, had been a cemetery to the San Filepe de Neri Catholic church which was founded 1706. At that time cemeteries were located to the North or East of the church. This particular cemetery was located to the North. Over the years, San Filepe de Neri Catholic church was flooded twice from the Rio Grande River which flows North-South and is West of the original location of the church. The church also burned down once and was finally relocated to the East where it still stands.

As a result of the floodings, many grave markers were washed away. Over the years the area was used for, among other things, a parking lot until 1980. At that time Plaza Don Luis was constructed on the property. When the plumbing was started for the fountain that stands in the plaza, coffins were unearthed and relocated. More coffins were found throughout the area and, as a result of time constraints, were left in place.

Study

Three coffins are located underground beneath this bench. The coffins are situated half way in and half way out of the load bearing wall behind the bench where this EVP was captured. We believe this sample to be a foreign language we have not yet identified.

We continually explore this area and have just a few of the results. We do not consider this an "investigation" or a "ghost hunt" but an ongoing study. Periodically we come to Don Luis Plaza and work to capture Electronic Voice Phenomenon (EVP) and take photographs.
